Analysis
6 years after the infamous trade that brought the "Sunset Boulevard" version of Kevin Garnett and Paul Pierce in exchange for 3 first choices (2014, 2016, 2018) and some insignificant fillers, Brooklyn returns on the cusp of NBA ranking by scoring 3 (or rather 2 +1) sensational shots in the free agency. Durant and Irving realize their project to team up and compete for a ring without Curry and respectively Lebron, and in addition DeAndre Jordan joins the caravan.
A cycle of 6 years of patient rehabilitation concludes, finally wiping the stain of the 2013 flop, and the Nets can legitimately dream big.
What can we expect from the Nets in 2019-20, back from a more than decent appearance at the
playoffs?
The predictive algorithms Basket Maniacs see an increase of only 2 victories for these renewed Nets.
Irving is still an upgrade compared to Russell, but Durant will be out for the whole season and the even positive addiction of DeAndre Jordan will slow down the development of promising third year Jarrett Allen. The other new acquisitions do not bring an increase in quality compared to the outgoing pieces, so the most likely hypothesis will be a playoff run to strengthen the team chemistry before the return of KD in 2021.
