Analysis
“He who is struck with the sword shall perish with the sword”.
Replace “sword” with “Durant” and you get the point.
The most successful team of the last decade, which for years has made game lovers wonder what it was like to play an apparently already awarded championship, was struck by the implacability of Karma. The aftermath of last November's controversy between Draymond Green and Kevin Durant probably never completely healed, and at the first deadline, KD35 decided to go in search of glory in a team that was undoubtedly his. The receipt for a downfall is simple. Take a winning dynasty, and then take away the most devastating scorer of the decade at SF, a deadly sniper and excellent defender in SG, a human tank able to mark from everywhere and pull down a wagon of rebounds at center position. Take out a couple of precious stabilizers for the team chemistry (Iggy and Livingston), and you get a serviceable playoff team that this year will have to chase instead of being chased.
