Everyone was expecting a summer with a bang and so it has been: with a few months (and some rivers of ink flowed) of late, the Anthony Davis sweepstake comes to an end with the Unibrow finally satisfied in his desire to shine in the Hollywood spotlight.
The Lakers had salary space for another max player being consequently accounted as frontrunner for the acquisition of Kawhi, but the enigmatic MVP of the latest Finals caught everyone off guard. After taking his time before the decision, Leonard astonished the NBA world choosing the less glamorous side of LA basketball. With the remaining main target meanwhile out of the market, the Lakers have invested the remaining salary space to contract DeMarcus Cousins, co-opted by his fellow AD, and the recent NBA champion Danny Green.
