Analysis
Summer marked by great changes for the Pelicans who put an end to the Anthony Davis sweepstakes and finalize other very effective market moves to complete a fully restructured roster.
The 2019-20 season will see 4 new members in the starting five where the only survivor will be the shooting guard Jrue Holiday.
The debut among the pros of Zion Williamson brings the hype necessary to move on after Unibrow’s farewell, and the newcomers Lonzo Ball and Brandom Ingram, finally out of the shadow of Lebron James, will try to show that qualitative leap that many expect from them.
Underrated but very precious is the acquisition of the Derrick Favors at center, one of the best players in the league if you look at the box plus minus, while the signature of the veteran JJ Redick brings the outside dimension that clearly lacked in the New Orleans roster.
Amazing long-term perspective for the Pelicans, who will be extremely enjoyable already next season, with tough but not completely remote playoff ambition.
