Analysis

After years of frustrating rebuiliding the Knicks had put the foundation for a sudden leap. Equipped with huge salary space sufficient to lure 2 max players, an interesting base of young player to further develop and the most attractive NBA market, New York approached the free agency 2019 with great hopes.

Considered frontrunner for the acquisition of Durant and Irving, the Knicks got the most mocking cold shower seeing Brooklyn's rivals implement their project in the wake of the free agency. Plan B was rather confused, probably driven by the sole objective of remaining flexible enough to retry the coup in FA 2021.

It is hard to worsen the record of 17 victories last season, but the Basket Maniacs algorithms see a negligible improvement in 2019-20.

Forecast 2019-20: 18-64
